Humidity Duct Sensors help keep buildings comfortable.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for HVAC building control applications, Q-Series uses embedded microprocessor that converts digital signal to continuous 0-10 Vdc signal, which corresponds to 0-100% RH. Standard humidity range is 3% accuracy over comfort range of 30-70% RH and 5% accuracy over full range of 0-100% non-condensing. Digital sensing technology requires no calibration or adjustment. Replaceable sensing tips can be removed without disrupting installation or wiring.

Siemens Improves Building Comfort with New Line of High Accuracy Humidity/Temp Sensors

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., Aug. 24, 2004 - Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. has introduced the Q-Series family of relative humidity duct sensors. These new sensors, which can be used in all standard HVAC building control applications where humidity control is required, improve building comfort by using a highly accurate embedded microprocessor that converts the sensor's digital signal to a continuous 0-10 Volt dc signal, which corresponds to 0-100% relative humidity.

The Q-Series duct humidity sensors contain a number of built-in features for easy installation and serviceability. The digital sensing technology requires no calibration or adjustment. The Q-Series family offers a number of accessories, including filters, filter caps, jumpers, termination blocks and mounting flanges. Removable filter caps can be replaced if the filter element gets dirty or damaged. Replaceable sensing tips allow the user to remove the sensing element tip without disrupting the installation or wiring.

Siemens offers sensors that measure relative humidity only, or combination humidity and temperature, with several different control signals, including 0-10 Volt, 4-20 mA, and RTD outputs. Humidity output signals are either 0-10 Volt or 4-20 mA. Standard humidity range is 3/5% accuracy -- 3% over the comfort range (30 - 70% RH) and 5% over the full range (0-100% non-condensing). Two percent accuracy versions are also offered. Three different jumper selectable temperature ranges allow for sensing in a variety of environments.

Siemens Q- Series duct humidity sensors--as well as the full line of Siemens HVAC sensors, valves, actuators and building control systems-are available through Siemens Building Technologies local offices, HVAC wholesalers and Staefa Control System dealers.
