Epicor Announces Newest Release of Global Human Capital Management Solution
Features Expanded Country-Specific Functionality, Plus Enhancements to Goals Measurement and Reporting for Closer Alignment with Corporate Objectives
Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, today announced general availability of the latest release of its human capital management (HCM) solution, Epicor HCM version 5.8, at the 16th Annual HR Technology® Conference & Exposition being held at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, NV, October 7–9. Epicor HCM is a complete human resource information system (HRIS) enabling companies to track, manage and analyze HR data throughout the entire employee lifecycle. The newest release of Epicor HCM delivers expanded country-specific functionality for Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) and the United Kingdom (UK), and enhancements to goal measurement and reporting.

Expanding Global Support
The expanded global framework of the newest release of Epicor HCM now supports organizations with offices in United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Location-specific configuration of Epicor HCM delivers a balance of relevant communication and corporate standards at each office site. Both UK and ANZ country-specific functionality profiles include terminology updates and tax code capabilities for respective regions.
The primary ANZ country-specific functionality profile offers:
-- Health and safety checklists, including reporting;
-- Government checks including Police Clearance and Working with Children to increase safety at the workplace; and,
-- Qualifying periods as part of the Workplace Relations (WR) Act.
For UK offices, key country-specific functionality includes:
-- Tracking of notice periods -- defining the length of time that employers and employees must provide with a notice of termination;
-- Working Time Directive that allows member states to permit individual workers to opt-out of the 48-hour weekly limit on their working hours; and,
-- Tracking employees’ work council participation, including their role.
Amplifying Employee Focus
To enhance employee measurement, Epicor HCM features new tasks with fields allowing users to align goals with corporate objectives. New fields represent a determined number of units that must be complete for the goal to be considered 100% achieved in the system. Principal Analyst Claire Schooley of Forrester Research, Inc. writes, “Create an HR strategy that connects with the business strategy. Everything HR does must tie directly back to the overall business strategy. The HRM strategy must help the organization meet its mission, vision, and goals.”
Additionally, goal enhancements include supporting a component of pay attached to a specific goal, which can be optionally displayed to employees. Schedule goal payout is a new task that provides tools to customize goal-related payout schedules and to view an employee or group of employees goals based on date or other filters such as by open, achieved, unpaid and closed. These filters can be incorporated with new forecast reporting where management calculates the payout amount for all goals within a certain period and ensure payouts align with corporate, division and department budgets.
