Huge Interest in Broad KBA Portfolio for Packaging Printing

Koenig Bauer AG (KBA) exhibited at Propak East Africa from 17 to 19 March in Nairobi/Kenya for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the numbers of visitors to its stand and the great interest shown in KBA's solutions for cutting-edge packaging printing. According to the organisers some 90 exhibitors from 19 countries attracted a raft of print experts from Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and other African countries to the biggest trade show for print, packaging and plastics in East Africa.
KBA-Flexotecnica active in the growing market for flexible packaging and its regional sales partner Gazelle took advantage of the three-day show to arrange in-depth talks with a host of packaging printers in the upcoming markets of East Africa. Flexo printing is extremely popular in Kenya and East Africa. The EVO XD flexo press therefore generated a great deal of interest and KBA-Flexotecnica expects to feel the positive effects of this trade show on its order books soon.
Visitors to Propak also flocked to see KBA's sheetfed offset offerings. Numerous African packaging printers visited the KBA stand, including heavyweights such as Nampak East Africa. The East African printers were especially interested in the B2 Rapida 75 and the medium-format Rapida 105. A ten-colour Rapida 105 configured for five-over-five printing has already gone into operation at Print Point in Nairobi and further users are also considering investing in this highly flexible press. The trade show has paved the way for other Rapida installations in East Africa.
