Integrated High-Throughput HPLC


Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has introduced the new LC-2010HT Series HPLC. Two models are available: the LC-2010AHT and the LC-2010CHT with a temperature controlled sample compartment capable of heating and cooling samples. Both units are fully integrated and include the system controller, membrane degasser, low-pressure gradient unit, ultra-fast autosampler, column oven and a UV detector with a thermostatted flow cell.

The LC-2010HT HPLC Series meets the requirements for many high-throughput applications. Sample injections can be made in as little as 15 seconds with near-zero sample carryover, superior repeatability, and precision of less than 0.3% RSD. The micro-volume pump ensures pulse-free solvent delivery and the Dynamic Inlet Valve greatly improves flow rate stability and gradient performance. Sample capacity is provided for 350 x 1 mL vials, 210 x 1.5 mL vials, 100 4 mL vials, and 4 standard or deep-well titerplates (96 or 384).

An advanced Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Wizards simplify setup and operation of the LC-2010HT. Analytical condition; can be set intuitively and configured for "Simple Mode" where user input is limited to only basic parameters. An automated start up function allows for system start at a designated date, and ten pre-equilibration methods can be defined to equilibrate the system and evaluate baseline stability prior to sample injection. Two programmable shutdown files allow for column flushing and/or cool down prior to system shutdown.

The built-in, automated validation functions of the LC-2010HT save time, effort, and money by reducing operator interaction during IQ, OQ, and PM functions. System stability performance features, including wavelength accuracy, pump pulsation, column oven temperature deviation, absorbance accuracy, baseline drift, noise, preset pressure limits, and gradient accuracy, can all be automatically checked and logged using the auto-validation routine. The optional Column Management Device (CMD) allows monitoring of column name, serial number, type, and history including mobile phase composition and number of injections.
