HP Selected to Modernize Guam's Court Case Management System

PALO ALTO, Calif. - HP Enterprise Services today announced it has been awarded a contract by the Judiciary of Guam to modernize its court case management system and improve access to the courts via the internet.

Under the terms of the contract, HP will act as a systems integrator for the judiciary's court case management solution. HP will help provide 24/7 public access to court information and improve system efficiency, as well as streamline reporting, administration and performance management. The solution also will help the government address the increased demand on judicial services due to Guam's expected 25 percent population growth over the next four years.

"This is a very exciting time for Guam as we work alongside private industry to accommodate the current and impending population growth of our island by revamping our infrastructure and modernizing citizen services," said Supreme Court of Guam Chief Justice F. Philip Carbullido. "With this system upgrade we are now better equipped to deliver on our mission of providing accessible judiciary services to the citizens of Guam."

With the new integrated court case management system, citizens will be able to file court documents, pay fees and check the status of cases online. Jurors will benefit from the new system's jury management features, which allow jurors to communicate with the courts via email and online.

"Court systems worldwide are facing challenges from increased case loads, greater complexity of cases and the ever growing needs of administering an end-to-end justice process," said Dennis Stolkey, senior vice president and general manager, U.S. Public Sector, HP Enterprise Services. "With an integrated court management system based on HP's 30 years of judicial experience, Guam is able to meet these demands while providing citizens with an open and transparent court."

To enhance the overall customer experience, the solution incorporates technical expertise and e-filing software from New Dawn Technologies, a small business provider of leading-edge case management, data integration and public access solutions.

By improving court process operations and access to court services, the Judiciary of Guam is working to implement an Instant-On Government that is readily available whenever it is needed. In a world of continuous connectivity, HP enables agencies and businesses to become Instant-On Enterprises with technology, security and innovation embedded throughout their organizations to deliver immediate services to citizens and clients.
