Houston Vibrator Takes ICF Vibrator to World of Concrete

ICF Vibrator produces superior consolidation of concrete in insulated concrete forms.

In cooperation with Brecon GmbH of Cologne, Germany, Houston Vibrator will exhibit the ICF vibrator at the World of Concrete, Booth# N2679 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, February 3-6, 2009.

The ICF vibrator is a hand-held external vibration tool for use on insulated concrete forms. The ICF vibrator assembly consists of a single phase 115 volt electric vibrator mounted on an aluminum board with handles for easy handling. After concrete is poured in the form, the tool is applied to the outside of the insulated concrete form, starting at the bottom of the form and working upward. From the outside, the tool vibrates the concrete inside the form, allowing air to float up and out of the concrete, creating a consolidated, compacted structure.

Creating good quality concrete consolidation is essential for strong, energy-efficient ICF walls. Voids and honeycombing can affect the structural integrity of the walls, especially in corners and lintels; these are the areas where strength is critical, and where poor consolidation is most likely to occur when internal vibration is used. Using internal concrete vibrators in corners and lintels is difficult, and often damages vibrators if they are caught up in the rebar reinforcements.

Brecon's ICF vibrator addresses all of these issues, and provides a useful tool which speeds up production, allows easy vibration of critical areas, and requires little cleaning or maintenance. Best of all, using the ICF vibrator prevents damage and loss of internal vibrators, which can create significant cost savings for the user.
