New Adhesive for Cold Water Bottles Provides Long Open Time & Tackiness


BRIDGEWATER, NJ--A new, hot melt adhesive for affixing wrap-around labels to food and beverage bottles provides long open time and tackiness. This specialty adhesive dries clear allowing consumers to see through the label.

The product, designated CONTOUR® 34-493A adhesive, holds paper or plastic labels to bottles made of glass, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene terephalate (PET). Experience has shown that the versatile adhesive serves well for roll fed and cut-and-stack labeling. Labeling line operators can run the entire speed range from jog speed up to 800 containers per minute when they use CONTOUR 34-493A adhesive.

CONTOUR 34-493A adhesive meets composition requirements of Indirect Food Additives, Regulation 21 CFR 175.105 "Adhesives" to ensure public health and meet safety standards.
