LogMeIn Launches Instant, Zero Configuration VPN

LogMeIn Hamachi Quickly and Easily Connects Hard to Reach Computers for Instant Access to Network Resources

WOBURN, Mass., Oct. 31 / -- LogMeIn, Inc. (http://www.logmein.com/), creator of the world's most widely used remote connectivity and support services, today announced the release of LogMeIn Hamachi -- a zero configuration, instant virtual private network (VPN) service that gives network administrators and support professionals the ability to quickly, easily and inexpensively provide remote users the connectivity and services traditionally available only on a corporate network or through complex traditional VPNs.

LogMeIn Hamachi -- already in use on more than five million machines during the beta program -- takes less than a minute to set up, requires no firewall or router reconfiguration, and delivers a VPN connection over a direct, secure peer-to-peer link. Hamachi provides users (remote employees, branch offices, consultants, even customers) access to traditional network resources such as intranets and shared folders as well as support and diagnostic tools.

"There is a huge demand for VPNs that are easier to set up and less expensive to maintain -- especially by small businesses," said Michael Simon, CEO of LogMeIn, Inc. "LogMeIn Hamachi delivers VPN connectivity as an Internet service and sets up in under a minute. It delivers a true LAN experience over the Internet while being flexible, fast and -- most importantly -- secure."

"This is the perfect solution to remotely support our customers' high-end printers, without extensive and expensive onsite hardware installation and configuration," said Todd Malone, Prepress Service Portfolio Director, KODAK Service & Support. "Now, our customers have the peace-of-mind that comes with instant 24/7 support, at a substantial cost reduction to traditional onsite support."

"The remote access and remote support services markets can expand their audience through the addition of complementary technologies," says Stacy Sudan, Research Analyst for IDC's Mobile Software program. "On demand VPN capabilities will be a good match for companies that can't afford an expensive VPN solution but need the functionality, or IT professionals that need LAN-like, always on access to the computers they support."

Pricing and Availability

LogMeIn Hamachi will be available for download in November at www.logmeinhamachi.com/download. On download, users can choose to use the free version of Hamachi, or sign up immediately for the premium, hosted service by enrolling in a 30-day free trial period.
