Hoshizaki Returns to its Tried and Proven RotoPac for Waste Disposal
Hoshizaki's PTC production assembly floor was being clogged by large amounts of cardboard dunnage discarded from receiving components for building their signature ice machines. Removal of the waste materials required fourteen trips daily to move and empty the full collection hoppers to the rear of the facility. The Material Department had been using the KenBay RotoPac Industrial Waste Compactor that they had bought in January of 2001 with no performance or repair issues. Hoshizaki installed another RotoPac and placed it at the source of the waste, right on the PTC production assembly floor. Not only have they reduced the amount of trips necessary to remove the cardboard to one a day, but it has also resulted in annual saving of 50% more than the cost of the RotoPac.

In purchasing the KenBay Rotary Arm Compactor, Hoshizaki took advantage of being able to continuously compact waste material utilizing 4,400 ft-lbs of torque at the compaction drum surface, making the RotoPac one of the most cost effective industrial waste solutions on the market today. Waste can be input into the RotoPac by conveyor, pneumatically, manually or through a chute.
