Hosedown Station provides vortex scouring action.

Press Release Summary:

STVM Silent Type Vortex Mixing Hosedown Station provides instantaneous, temperature-controlled hot water by blending steam and cold water. Thermal element automatically shuts off steam flow if hot water temperature exceeds temperature set point by 15°F. Vortex scouring action helps prevent scaling. Water pressures range from 20-110 psig and steam pressures range from 40-150 psig. Model V150 produces water from ambient to 150°F and Model V180 produces water to 185°F.

Spirax Sarco Introduces High-Performance Hosedown Station

BLYTHEWOOD, SC-Spirax Sarco has introduced the Silent Type Vortex Mixing (STVM) hosedown station. Designed for both process equipment clean-in-place (CIP) and general house-keeping use, the STVM station provides instantaneous, temperature-controlled hot water by blending steam and cold water. Its advanced design improves both operator safety and performance reliability.

The STVM hosedown station is designed with safety as the prime concern. A thermal element automatically shuts off steam flow if the hot water temperature exceeds the temperature set point by 15°F. The unit cannot pass live steam in the event of a cold feedwater interruption.

The STVM station provides consistent temperature control across a wide steam and water inlet pressure range, at water pressures from 20 to 110 psig and steam pressures from 40 to 150 psig. Other benefits include fast response, quiet operation, easy maintenance and resistance to scaling.

A key to the unit's performance is its dual countercurrent vortex mixing design. The mixing section induces a cold water inner vortex moving from inside out, while simultaneously inducing a steam vortex moving from outside in. Mixing is complete and instant, producing a steady and controlled outlet hot water temperature without cavitation and noise. This smooth, quiet operation reduces operator stress and fatigue. The vortex scouring action also helps prevent scaling. The drop-in vortex cartridge, with only one moving part, can be removed for cleaning or maintenance in seconds with a 1-1/2" wrench. Spare seal kits are available.

The STVM station is available in two models; the V150 that produces water from ambient to 150°F and the V180 for water to 185°F.
