Toyoda Shows New Flexible Pallet Automation for HMCs

Arlington Heights -- August 23, 2004 -- Toyoda's FA450-III horizontal machining center will be paired with a new high-speed rail guided vehicle and pallet storage system to form a complete metalcutting cell.

The three-level stocker system will be shown with 12 pallets to allow unmanned machine loading and lights-out production. Due to its modular design and virtually unlimited capacity, additional machines, pallets (up to 120) and loading stations can be added in the future without interrupting production.

The system will be shown with Toyoda's latest generation of Mach III Cell Controller software. Mach III centralizes scheduling and production management for multiple machines at one shop floor PC. The Windows-based program increases machine and operator productivity up to 90 percent by selecting the most efficient production schedule and automating tasks.

For a demonstration of this cell, visit Toyoda at booth #8018 during IMTS 2004.
