Kitamura Machinery Introduces New Space Saving and Economical Horizontal Machining Center

High quality components provide the precision and stability required for tighter tolerance demands in machining allowing manufacturers to supply high value-added
services to their clients

Wheeling, IL - Kitamura Machinery, the premier manufacturer of precision horizontal, vertical and 5-axis machining centers, announced today that the company will feature its new compact horizontal machining center, the Mycenter-HX400iSII, at IMTS 2010 in Chicago, September 13th-18th.

By combining leading edge technology with hands-on attention to detail, Kitamura has elevated its machining center manufacture to new levels of quality and durability with the introduction of the Mycenter-HX400iSII. Within a remarkably small footprint lies the power of a workhorse AC 13kw AC motor, rock-solid hardended box ways, rigid #40 taper spindle and the freedom of a standard full 4th axis rotary table for both multi-part tombstone fixturing and complex multi-angle large part machining.

True Geometry Accuracy ® means Kitamura Mycenters never use geometry compensation in manufacture to adjust squareness, parallelism or perpendicularity. Kitamura hand scrapes all contact surfaces in order to provide a high precision finish which cannot be accomplished by a machine. This ensures accuracy, long-term reliability and peak performance.

The HX400iSII comes standard with a 20,000rpm, energy efficient, 4-step gear driven dual contact spindle. With a focus on ecological efficiency, Kitamura's gear driven spindles produce the best output range under a variety of cutting conditions, allowing for a maximum range of applications, materials and speeds/feeds. Rigid, dual contact design stands up to the toughest cutting conditions while high-speed tapping functions and spindle heat displacement system maximize spindle life in order to achieve the performance needed for high-speed and high accuracy machining.

The standard full 4th axis rotary table is designed with a Direct Drive motor enabling speeds of 125rpm and positioning of ±2.5 Arc/Sec, dramatically reducing part cycle times, eliminating backlash and providing a firm, rigid platform for highly demanding applications. The Mycenter-HX400iSII offers a uniquely large work envelope for a machine of its size. With a maximum work piece size of 24.80" x 29.33" and table load capacity of 770Lbs, it offers the size, rigidity and accuracy necessary for multi-part tombstone fixturing and complex multi-angle medium to large part machining.

Added options up to 290 tools and 21 pallets can be installed in field to increase production capabilities as needs change. A 5th axis retrofit increases productivity while saving on labor and tooling costs. Optional 5-axis capabilities allow for high precision, complex parts to me machined in one operation with superb surface finishes, reducing the overall machining process.
