Honeywell's HTF7000 Surpasses 5,000 Hours of Service on Flexjet's Bombardier Challenger 300

99.96% Reliability For Flexjet* Fleet As HTF7000 Propulsion System Reaches Major Milestone
No In-Flight Shutdowns Since Engine Entered Service in 2003
NBAA ORLANDO, Oct. 4, 2008 - Honeywell announced today that its high time HTF7000 turbofan propulsion system powering Flexjet's first Bombardier Challenger 300* business jet has surpassed 5,000 hours of in-flight service without any inflight shutdowns or any unscheduled maintenance.
Having entered service in early January 2004, Flexjet took many of the initial new aircraft deliveries and immediately began accumulating up to as much as 1,100 hours per year on each aircraft. During this time period, the propulsion system has thrived while demonstrating excellent reliability and an earned reputation for dependability.
"With more than 400 propulsion systems in worldwide service that have accrued more than 450,000 hours of operation since entering service, our HTF7000 is delivering better than 99.96% dispatch reliability," said Dan Fuller, Vice President, OEM Programs at Honeywell Aerospace. "Reliability is a key requirement for fractional operators, helping them control maintenance costs while providing an engine they can count on for dispatch reliability for their customers."

Honeywell has HTF7000-specialized field service engineers, trained during the flight test program, actively supporting the Challenger 300 aircraft program. These field-service specialists are deployed globally including at Bombardier Aircraft Service Centers to support the operational fleet worldwide.
The HTF7000 produces 6,826 pounds (30.4kN) of thrust at takeoff, with a flat rating of 86 degrees Fahrenheit (ISA +15°C), allowing the Challenger 300 to fly transcontinental missions up to 3,100 nautical miles (5,741km) with eight passengers, two-crew and maximum allowable fuel.
