Honeywell Process Control Technology Selected to Support Growth at German Pigment Manufacturer

Experion to Streamline Operations, Reduce Waste and Improve Environmental Efficiency for KRONOS

LEVERKUSEN, Germany, Nov. 29, 2007- Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today announced it will upgrade process control technology at a KRONOS plant in Leverkusen, Germany, to increase the site's efficiency and reduce operating costs. KRONOS is one of the world's largest producers of titanium dioxide pigments used in paints, plastics, paper and consumer goods.

The project, set to begin in September 2007, will migrate the plant's existing Honeywell process control systems to Honeywell's latest Experion' Process Knowledge System (PKS). The upgrade also includes Honeywell's Field Device Manager, Alarm Management and Lifecycle Management applications as well as user training and technical support. Honeywell's Digital Video Manager(TM) will be installed as part of a separate project.

The new technology platform will deliver numerous benefits, among them greater access to a wide variety of process critical information that will allow operators to optimize decision making, enhance productivity and improve plant profitability.

"There are a number of reasons why we choose Honeywell including the fact that we depended on a seamless transition to the new system, with no downtime" said Michael Brassels, director process and engineering, KRONOS. "Additionally, the migrated system will contribute to a more flexible production line and reduced operating costs. The improvements will enable us to use energy and manpower far more efficiently. Honeywell is a valued, long-time supplier and we know they can help improve our business performance."

Honeywell has provided KRONOS with technology and consultancy for 20 years. Honeywell's solutions are currently used in KRONOS facilities in Canada, Belgium and Germany.

"Our solution uses the latest technology to enable KRONOS to reduce costs and boost production capacity," said Reinhard Adam, managing director, Honeywell Process Solutions Germany. "We have worked closely with KRONOS for many years and are pleased to play a key role in its continued growth."
