New Compact Hollow-Shaft Encoder
Servo Magnetics Inc. - Canoga Park, CA-the new modular hollow-shaft encoder offers extremely easy installation and is designed to provide 2 channels incremental shaft position at 500 lines / revolution with quadrature and an index pulse. This RS 422 output differential line driver device features a single LED emitter / receiver for high reliability, as well as a sturdy glass code disk mounted on an aluminum hub. Installation is as simple as 1-2-3 by mounting the emitter/receiver assembly to your motor using two screws, slipping the encoder wheel over your 3mm shaft locking it in place with the set screw then; just snap the dust-cover in place or, Servo Magnetics Inc. can supply a motor and encoder solution tested and ready to install. The low profile design only adds 0.450" to the length. No adjustments are required and no mechanical rubbing exists once installed. Overall case diameter is 35mm.
