Hollow Metal Components can be formed into any shape.
Press Release Summary:
Thin-walled, hollow electroforms can be used as molds, coldshields, waveguides, precision tubing, precision nozzles, and other light weight, structurally rigid components. Electroforms are produced by electrodepositing thin layer of nickel on aluminum mandrel of any shape, then chemically dissolving mandrel to leave behind hollow, thin-walled metal form. Components can be made as small as 0.020 in. dia out of nickel, copper, gold, silver, or combination thereof.

Servometer® Custom Electroforms
Servometer®/Precision Manufacturing Group, LLC, has refined the process for manufacturing precision Electroforms. These Electroforms are custom designed, thin-walled, hollow metal components that can be used in countless high tech applications. Servometer® Electroforms can be used as molds, coldshields, waveguides, as precision tubing, precision nozzles, and other light weight, structurally rigid components. Servometer® Electroforms can be made as small as 0.020 in. (0.5 mm) diameter out of nickel, copper, gold or silver, or a combination thereof.
Servometer® Electroforms are produced by Electrodepositing a thin layer of nickel on an aluminum mandrel of any shape---then chemically dissolving the mandrel to leave behind a hollow, thin-walled metal form, which becomes the electroform.
With the specialized electroforming process perfected by Servometer®, most custom electroforms require no significant tooling, therefore; several prototype variations can be made and evaluated, as opposed to being locked into a "good enough" design by expensive dies or molds.
