BriskHeat Introduces New Line of Heating Mantles Designed for Laboratory Use

BriskHeat Announces Metal-Housed Heating Mantles for Round-Bottom Flasks for Use in Research and Development, Universities, Testing Labs and Chemical Industry Applications

Today, BriskHeat, a leading provider of flexible heating solutions, introduced a new line of metal-housed heating mantles. The mantles are for use in research and development labs that employ round-bottom flasks for heating liquids.

“BriskHeat is proud to announce the latest addition to its offering for the research and development market,” said Patrick Doyle, Vice President of Business Development, BriskHeat. “Laboratories trust BriskHeat to provide them with high-quality, durable products. Our new heating mantles definitely fit that description.”

BriskHeat’s HM metal-housed heating mantles are made to fit precisely around boiling and distillation-style round-bottom flasks to provide exceptionally consistent, easy-to-control heat. The mantles fit flasks with capacities between 50ml and 6,000ml and provide high-temperature capabilities up to 450°C (842°F). They are offered in tabletop designs and are available with built-in controllers. Additionally, they have a durable plastic-coated chemical resistant metal housing, are thermally insulated for safe touch, and are grounded for added safety.

The new heating mantles can be used by scientists, researchers, chemists, biologists, laboratory professionals and students in labs that heat liquids when performing experiments or conducting research. Scenarios for use include:

  • Distillation: Separating a component or substance from a liquid mixture by selective evaporation and condensation.
  • Chemical reaction: A process during which one or more substances (the reactants) are converted to one or more substances (the products).
  • Refluxing: Used to supply energy to heated reactions over long periods of time, refluxing involves the condensation of vapors and the return of this condensate back to the system where it originated.
  • BriskHeat also manufactures a full line of flexible surface heating products for laboratories and R&D facilities, including silicone and cloth heating tapes, cloth heaters and mantles and benchtop controllers.
