HK Systems Selected by The New York Times for Bundle Handling and Insert Management Solution

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, FEBRUARY 20, 2007 --- HK Systems, Inc., North America's leading
automated material handling and supply chain software provider, today announces it has been selected
by The New York Times to provide a bundle handling system and complete insert management software
solution. The project is a part of the College Point facility expansion and will include HK conveyor,
controls, and overall systems integration of the bundle handling and palletizing system.

The flexible and cost-effective bundle handling solution will convey bundles from 11 tie-lines (5 ROP and
6 Insert) to six Schur palletizers providing multiple bundle paths for complete redundancy. This unique
HK Systems' material flow solution will also allow The New York Times to redirect bundles from the
existing mailroom tilt-tray system to the College Point expansion.

In addition, HK Systems will provide their proven Material Tracking & Control (MTC) software system to
ensure complete inventory accountability and control of Free Standing Inserts (FSI) and packages. The
system will manage all FSI pallet movement from receiving through delivery to inserters and palletized
packages to delivery trucks. The Radio Frequency based MTC will be installed at a New York Times'
offsite FSI warehouse as well as the College Point facility.

Scott Hinke, HK Systems' Vice President, Paper and Publishing Vertical Markets, stated, "We are proud
to be a partner of The New York Times, as our companies have enjoyed a long history of deploying
successful automation projects." Hinke continued, "The implementation of HK's flexible bundle handling
solution, coupled with the industry leading MTC system, provides substantial cost savings in addition to
low risk accountability and control of FSIs throughout the New York Times' supply chain."
