Hipot Testers feature PLC remote control.

Press Release Summary:

Models 2512 and 2515, rated 250 and 500 VA respectively, feature electronic ramp and dwell timers as well as memory storage for test parameters. Instruments control most functions remotely through switches and analog inputs and outputs. With PLC remote control, test, reset, and interlock inputs are provided. Outputs include test in process, pass, fail, and reset. Both testers offer microprocessor control and 100 mA of test current.

Original Press Release:

Models 2512 & 2515 Now Feature Enhanced PLC Remote Control

Lake Forest, Illinois, May 2004 - Announced today by Slaughter Company is the addition of enhanced PLC remote control to the 2512, 250 VA Hipot tester and the 2515, 500 VA Hipot tester. Enhanced PLC remote control allows these testers to be built into automated systems. Programmable Logic Control is a form of automation that incorporates relay technology to control the electrical safety tester. The benefit of using PLC Remote Control is that it does not necessarily require computer programming to set up a basic test system. Through simple switches and analog inputs and outputs, the instrument can control most functions remotely. With PLC Remote Control, Test, Reset, and Interlock inputs are provided. Ouputs that are provided are Test in Process, Pass, Fail and Reset. This gives the user all the basic remotes required to effectively utilize PLC remote control. Furthermore, the interlock function acts as an additional safety feature by preventing an instrument's high voltage output from being activated without the interlock enabled. This prevents the accidental exposure of high voltage to an operator.

The 2512 is a 250 VA Hipot tester and the 2515 is a 500 VA Hipot tester. Both testers offer 100 mA of test current for the testing of high capacitance products. The 2512 provides a maximum test voltage output of 2,500 VAC and the 2515 provides a maximum test voltage output of 5,000 VAC.

In addition, the 2512 and 2515 are designed with microprocessor control that provides an easy-to-use interface while adding to the safety and reliability of the instruments. Simple menu keys allow users to easily set-up parameters and view results. These two testers also feature memory storage of the test parameters, as well as electronic ramp and dwell timers.

With the addition of enhanced PLC remote control to the 2512 and the 2515, Slaughter's complete product line of Hipot and Ground Bond testers now include enhanced PLC remote control. These products include Slaughter's enhanced line of Hipot and Ground Bond testers as well as their basic line of Hipot testers.
