Georgia Boot Hikes Into Younger Market With New Safety And Non-Safety Hiker

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Georgia Boot has long been recognized as one of America's leading manufacturers of work footwear for the blue collar market. Now, the company has taken aim at the growing segment of younger workers entering the market.

Georgia Boot has introduced a new athletic-style hiker in both a safety (safety toe class I/75, C/75) and non-safety version. "Today's younger workers are looking for footwear that reflects their lifestyle," said Bill Johnson, vice president of product development. "The traditional brown and black work shoes just don't fit this generation. Our new hiker provides the styling they desire with the quality and safety they require."

The hiker features Georgia Boot's patented Comfort Core® insole technology, giving these boots the feel of athletic shoes. Available for fall 2002 with a suggested retail of $104 to $110, these boots also feature:

- tumbled Chocolate full grain leather;
- moisture wicking lining;
- padded gusset and collar;
- strong nylon lacing system with high performance speed hooks;
- steel shank;
- compression molded midsole with oil and slip resistant rubber outsole; and
- cement construction.
