High-Temperature Insulation conserves installation effort.

Press Release Summary:

Formed of silica aerogel and reinforced with non-woven, glass-fiber batting, Pyrogel® XT-E insulates piping, vessels, tanks, and equipment in applications up to 1,200°F. Roll sizes of 1,500 and 850 ft² for respective material thicknesses of 0.20 and 0.40 in. help minimize labor during installation, while design minimizes dust to facilitate handling and clean-up. Flexible blanket has density of 12.5 lb/ft³ and water repellency/breathability properties that combat corrosion under insulation.

Pyrogel XT-E Insulation Offers Best Thermal Performance and Handling

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- Aspen Aerogels has introduced a new high-temperature insulation for industrial applications. Pyrogel® XT-E combines the industry-leading thermal performance of Pyrogel® XT with new features making it easier to handle and install in refining, petrochemical, power and other facilities.

Pyrogel XT-E incorporates several customer-driven product upgrades including dramatically reduced dust for easier handling and clean-up, and convenient roll sizes for fast, labor-saving installations. The product retains Pyrogel XT's outstanding thermal effectiveness and unique water repellency/breathability properties that combat corrosion under insulation (CUI), a common problem in industrial facilities.

"Pyrogel XT-E adds new features to the most effective high-temperature insulation material in the industrial market and improves our customers' ability to use our product in the most demanding environments," said Don Young, president and CEO of Aspen Aerogels.

Aspen Aerogels is the leading provider of industrial aerogel insulation, which delivers maximum thermal protection with minimal weight and thickness. Its flexible blanket form is up to five times thinner than competing insulation products, saving space and total installed cost on piping, vessels, tanks and equipment. Aspen's insulation product line is used in industrial facilities worldwide on applications ranging from -460 degrees F (-270 degrees C) to 1200 degrees F (650 degrees C).
