New Ceramacast 576N Encapsulates Ceramic Lamp Bases

Valley Cottage, NY –

SUMMARY

Ceramacast™ 576N, a new high temperature, ceramic filled, electrically insulating compound, produced by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to encapsulate large cavities in high temperature ceramic components including lamp bases and high power resistors.

FEATURES

Ceramacast™ 576N is a large-grain, alumina-filled, ceramic compound ideal for encapsulating high temperature electrical components including lamp bases, power resistors, heaters, vacuum feed-thrus, PTC devices, rheostats, and temperature sensors. Material properties include a temperature resistance to 3000 °F (1650 °C), dielectric strength of 150 Volts/Mil, compressive strength of 10,200 psi, and excellent moisture and chemical resistance.

Ceramacast™ 576N is supplied in powder form and is mixed in a ratio of 100 parts powder to 12-14 parts water by weight. It is easily dispensed thru pressurized dispensing equipment and sets in 16 hours at room temperature or can be cured rapidly at 200 °F in 1-2 hours. Cured material exhibits a porosity of less than 2% and an extremely low shrink rate of less than 0.3% at 1000 °F.

Ceramacast™ 576N is available from stock in quart, gallon and five gallon containers.
