Sodick Releases New VZ300L & VZ500L Affordable, Linear Motor Drive, Wire-Cut EDMs

Sodick Inc., a manufacturer of EDM technology is releasing the new VZ300L & VZ500L linear motor driven wire-cut EDMs. "The VZ Series is high speed, high precision and features our linear motor system. This system employs a direct-drive, frictionless, vibration-free mechanism that has unrivaled acceleration and positioning accuracy with no backlash," said a company spokesperson. The VZ Series is Sodick's new line of cost-friendly, high-quality Wire EDMs.

The VZ Series features glass scale feedback that provides true machine positioning at all times. The scales are mounted on the moving axes; this enables them to consistently measure machine accuracy. Glass scale feedback coupled with linear drive motors guarantees machining accuracy.

The environmentally friendly recycle circuit saves on energy cost by recycling unused discharge pulses that were not originally used in the discharge process. The high speed electrolysis-free circuit eliminates oxidation and improves part straightness.

The VZ Series is suitable for parts that require close tolerance and fine surface finishes. The VZ300L features a 13.8" x 9.8" x 8.7" X, Y, Z stoke and has a maximum workpiece weight of 1,100 lbs; while the VZ500L features a 19.7" x 13.8" x 9.8" X, Y, Z stroke and a maximum workpiece weight of 1,870 lbs.

Sodick Inc., established in 1976, has sold over 50,000 EDMs worldwide and has had over 20,000 linear motor EDM deliveries. Sodick machines are used for the production of dies and molds and other various applications that cannot be produced by standard machining methods. Sodick has three ISO certified manufacturing facilities with over 3,100 employees worldwide and technical centers located in Chicago, New Jersey and California. Sodick offers the industry's first 10 year positioning guarantee on all of its linear motor driven EDMs.
