High-Speed Passive Switch provides LVDS signal routing.

Press Release Summary:

Providing high-speed LVDS signal routing for switchable graphics, MAX14979E features 8 pF on-capacitance and 4 W on-resistance to minimize return and insertion loss to preserve signal quality at high data rates. It also includes ±15 kV ESD protection on all pins, operating from 3.3 V supply over -40 to +85°C temperature range. Unit switches 4 lanes of high-speed LVDS and 3 sets of AUX signals, suiting it for routing signals from notebook PCs to external monitors.

High-Speed Passive Switch Provides LVDS Signal Routing for Switchable Graphics

Maxim's new LVDS switch combines an ultra-low on-capacitance (8pF, typ) with low on-resistance (4W, typ) to preserve signal quality while supporting high data rates.

SUNNYVALE, CA - Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX14979E, a passive switch for high-speed LVDS signal routing for switchable graphics. Its ultra-low on-capacitance (8pF, typ) and on-resistance (4W, typ) minimize return loss and insertion loss to preserve signal quality at high data rates. In addition, the device includes ±15kV ESD protection (Human Body Model) on all pins, thus eliminating the need for external protection components. The MAX14979E switches four lanes of high-speed LVDS signals and three sets of AUX signals, making it ideal for routing LVDS signals from notebook PCs to external monitors.

The MAX14979E operates from a single 3.3V supply, and is fully specified over the -40°C to +85° extended temperature range. It is available in an industry-standard, 6.0mm x 6.0mm, 36-pin TQFN package. Prices start at $1.65 (1000-up, FOB USA).
