High Speed Machining features software control.

Press Release Summary:

Model QVM1100 is equipped with HPCC, RISC, and data server for speed and look-ahead capability to maneuver small block motions and corners at high speeds. Control software adjusts time constant values required for roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing during high speed machining. Machine has work envelope of 24 x 43 x 20 in., and is provided with 12,000 or 20,000 rpm with either CAT40, BT40, or HSK-63A tooling.

Software Controlled High Speed Machining

High Speed Machining is a process not a technology. This process has many variables like machine, CNC control, cutting tools, programming, speeds and feeds. Tong Tai as a machine tool builder has built the QVM1100 machine with the Fanuc control (Fanuc 18iMB) keeping all the variables in mind. The machine casting, ways, ball screws and spindle are designed with FEA to work in unison and provide stiffness with minimized heat effect and thermal expansion required for high finish with accuracy. The Fanuc control equipped with the proper HPCC, RISC and data server provides the speed and look ahead capability to maneuver small block motions and corners at high speeds. In addition to the above Tong Tai has added software in the control to adjust the time constant values required for roughing, semi-finishing and finishing during high speed machining. The programmer can adjust these time constant values through his program. This gives more flexibility to adjust the finish, accuracy and cutting time during the machining process. The QVM1100 has a work envelope (W x L x H) of 24" x 43" x 20" and is provided with 12,000 or 20,000 rpm with either the CAT40, BT40 or HSK-63A tooling.
