Affordable Vehicle GPS and GPRS Recording from CAS DataLoggers

New Rebel Lite Provides Affordable Vehicle Data Logging

CHESTERLAND OH—CAS DataLoggers and Influx announce the latest affordable solution for vehicle data acquisition: the new Rebel Lite, a high-speed data logger which collects a wide range of signals including OBD, CAN, analog and GPS (optional). The Rebel Lite offers flexible vehicle communication along with FREE configuration and analysis software supporting industry standard protocols. With its remote data accessibility, the Rebel Lite vehicle data logger is ideal for vehicle and engine monitoring applications including vehicle field tests, OBD automotive emissions data recording; powertrain data recording and UDS capture; OEM engineering data acquisition using CCP and xCP protocols, CAN Bus recording in ‘listen only’ mode, and more. Now users can be logging data in just minutes.

Users running vehicle tests and needing additional engine data alongside their instrumentation will find the Rebel Lite a useful tool, as the data logger acquires most of the additional data itself without the need for extra instrumentation. The Rebel Lite supports high-speed sampling rates to acquire internal ECU parameters, and also records CAN signals.

The Rebel Lite datalogger can collect real-time data from several sources including temperatures, RPM, brake and throttle settings, latitude/longitude, speed, etc. for extended periods without requiring any user interaction. The logger features a flexible, affordable communications interface for in-vehicle electronic modules; using multiple high-speed microprocessors, they can simultaneously capture data from 2 different CAN sources with additional sensor options available. Setup is equally simple with no need for users to write complex scripts.

Using the opto-isolated CAN communications channels, the Rebel logger allows data to be collected from the OBD port using ISO14229 and ISO15765 protocols and also features support for K-line protocol. The Rebel Lite also features multiple LEDs, 32GByte internal data storage and multiple trigger sources. Its powerful communications technologies include an option for remote connectivity via a GPRS cellular modem and optional GPS module for location tracking, all safely contained in a rugged enclosure rated at IP31.

Along with the datalogger, users also receive FREE DiaLog configuration and analysis software for configuring the Rebel and analyzing data. DiaLog offers configuration via USB and imports industry standard ASAM A2L files, ODX and CAN dbc formats. Users can construct complex data logging configurations using the simple graphical interface, which also allows data retrieval by direct and remote connections. The vehicle data logger can also be configured to acquire, store and export files for distribution and enables in-field firmware upgrades. The software package also contains DataVue, an integrated professional data analysis tool allowing for advanced visual data analysis with the use of sophisticated graphing tools. DataVue allows data to be exported in standard formats including MDF, Matlab, and CSV.

The Rebel Lite offers many add-on optional capabilities including an integrated GPS and integrated GPRS modem with EDGE technology to allow remote access. We also offer an instrumentation module and extension box providing electrically isolated analog instrumentation and temperature measurement via K-type thermocouple inputs or pressure sensors. Users can also utilize complex triggering capability, enabling up to 30 conditions and triggers, multiple logic commands and an external manual trigger option.
