LMT-Fette Introduces the Twincut Feed High Feed Face Mill for the Die & Mold Industry
Cleveland, OH - (March 25, 2004) LMT-Fette's new TWINCUT Feed High Feed Milling Cutter is designed specifically for the roughing and semi-finishing of materials used in the Die & Mold industry.
The TWINCUT Feed features a three-edge insert design that maximizes chip thinning, resulting in feed rates of up to 400 ipm. In addition, it runs at chip loads up to .125" per tooth (6 - 10 times greater than that of a conventional milling cutter). Metal removal rates, proven to be 2 - 3 times that of a conventional button-style cutter, maximize cubic inches per minute of metal removal, and result in an extremely economical cutter.
LMT-Fette's new high feed milling cutter cuts at the bottom of the tool, as opposed to the diameter of the tool. The resulting high axial forces, and very low radial forces, permit it to work at overhangs of 10" or more.
The TWINCUT Feed performs face milling, pocketing and 3-D contouring in all steel up to 45Rc, 300 and 400 series stainless steels and grey and ductile cast iron. It also performs well in plunge milling, ramping and helical boring/drilling operations. Coolant-through capabilities improve tool life and chip evacuation.
The Twincut Feed is designed to work combined with LMT-Fette's new LC280TT grade insert. This grade is a superior PVD substrate with multiplayer coatings of TiAlN and TiN.
