Infortrend Announces Ultra High Performance "EonStor DS 4000 Gen2"
One of the First Storage Systems to incorporate the latest Intel ® Xeon® processor D-1500 product family
TAIPEI, Taiwan – Infortrend® Technology, Inc. (TWSE: 2495) today announced the launch of the EonStor DS 4000 Gen2, one of the world's 1(st) storage systems to integrate the Intel ® Xeon® processor D-1500 product family. Thanks to this integration and enhanced hardware, EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 systems deliver 20% higher IOPS performance and a 30% improvement in write throughput than its previous generations.
Working closely with Intel, Infortrend is one of the 1(st) storage providers to integrate the Intel ® Xeon® processor D-1500 product family and optimize their design for specific processor features that are tailored to enterprise SAN and cloud storage. This integration, combined with 128MB memory, dual host board, 12Gb/s SAS support in drives, host and expansion ports, and SSD optimization features, enables EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 to deliver a 11,000MB/s read, 5,500MB/s write throughput and end-to-end 600K IOPS.
EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 systems offer great integration for VMware SRM and VASA and OpenStack, making them ideal for IOPS intensive applications such as VDI, Web Server, database, and cloud computing. Their high throughput also makes them a great choice for media and entertainment applications.
