High-Current Module powers CAN systems.

Press Release Summary:

Offered in NEMA 4 rated enclosure, CL-300 module provides 8 PWM or On/Off, sourcing, 15 A outputs, with current feedback over 3 A, in one location. Able to function as slave module or SBC, compact, solid-state, microprocessor-based module fits within mobile equipment. User-configurable maximum current on each output creates Virtual Fuses, and 4-wire harness ID code allows up to 16 Input Modules to be connected to one CAN Buss.

New Module Brings Power to CAN Systems

(Hartford, WI) HED introduces the CL-300, a module that provides eight very high current outputs in a single location. This rugged, compact module fits easily within mobile equipment to power a variety of devices such as starter and valve solenoids.

The CL-300 is a solid state microprocessor based module that is a member of the HED CANLink(TM) multiplexed control family and typically replaces high current relays or valves.

Special Features include:

o 8 PWM or On/Off, sourcing, 15A outputs, with current feedback over 3A.

o Customer configurable maximum current on each output, which creates "Virtual Fuses."

o NEMA 4 rated enclosures for demanding off-road environments. The unit can operate in temperatures ranging from -40° to 85°C.

o A 4-wire harness ID code allows up to 16 Input Modules to be connected to one CAN Buss.

The standard HED CL-300 is programmed with base code that makes it a slave module, or it can function as a SBC. CL-300 also accepts output configuration commands, and output commands from a separate "brain" module.

The CL-300 non-volatile memory stores configuration data. Thus the CL-300 does not need reconfiguring each time the system is powered up.

HED is a leading supplier of state-of-the-art electronics for truck, vehicle, and off-road machine applications. Contact HED for a free copy of the new brochure on the expanded CANLink family.
