Four New IHLP Low-Profile, High-Current Inductors Feature Low Profiles Of 1.2 mm And 2.0 mm With Maximum Frequency Ranges of 1.0 MHz and 5.0 MHz
New Inductors Offer Inductance Values from 0.047 H to 4.7 H
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA February 9, 2007 Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of four new low-profile, high-current inductors that feature high maximum frequencies and low inductance values.
The IHLP-1616AB-11 and IHLP-1616BZ-11 inductors offer a maximum frequency of 1.0 MHz, while the IHLP-1616AB-01 and IHLP-1616BZ-01 feature a maximum frequency of 5.0 MHz. The inductance range for this new series is from 0.047 H to 4.7H.
Offering the lowest DCR/H for their respective package sizes, the new IHLP inductors serve as high-performing, space- and power-saving solutions for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc applications such as point-of-load converters, distributed power systems, and voltage regulation for FPGAs.
Target end products for the devices include next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, portable gaming devices, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive navigation and multimedia entertainment systems. Other applications include medium- to high- current noise filtering and dc-to-dc boost converters for white LED driver circuits.
All four devices released today feature compact dimensions of 0.160 in. by 0.175 in. [4.06 mm by 4.45 mm], and occupy the new 1616 footprint. The IHLP-1616AB-01 and IHLP-1616AB-11 inductors offer very low height profiles of 0.047 in. [1.2 mm], and the IHLP-1616BZ-01 and IHLP-1616BZ-11 inductors offer low profiles of 0.079 in. [2.0 mm].
The new inductors handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Their shielded, composite construction is RoHS-compliant and 100% lead (Pb)-free. The new devices are specified for an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
