High Capacity Pump transfers sensitive products.

Press Release Summary:

Series LS pump utilizes 1-piece, bow-tie impeller, which cleanly sweeps pump chamber, scooping product through pump rather than beating it. Capacities range up to 1,000 gpm with discharge heads up to 195 ft. Casing and suction cover are cast type CD4MCu with machined ASA150 flanged ports. To resist abrasive wear, impellers are 28% chrome-iron and are threaded-on for easy installation and removal. Removable shaft seal can be replaced without replacing entire shaft.

Original Press Release:

High Capacity Pump Provides Unmatched Performance on Shear Sensitive Products

GPM Pumps has launched a high capacity pump specifically designed for the rapid transfer of delicate products. Unlike conventional open impeller designs, the GPM Series LS offers a significantly higher overall operating efficiency as viscosity and solids concentration in the pumped media increase. The one-piece "bow-tie" impeller cleanly sweeps the pump chamber, scooping product through the pump rather than beating it - giving less foaming and compromise to product integrity.

The combination of high capacity with ultra-low shear pumping makes the Series LS an intelligent alternate to low-efficiency centrifugal and positive displacement pumps for products including latex and other shear sensitive liquids, food and vegetable waste solids, coatings, abrasives and corrosive slurries.

Series LS pump performance provides capacities up to 1,000 gallons per minute with discharge heads up to 195 ft.

Fully machined components are used throughout the pump's liquid end to ensure proper alignment and fit. The pump casing and suction cover are of cast type CD4MCu with machined ASA150 flanged ports. To resist abrasive wear, impellers are 28% chrome-iron and are threaded-on for ease of installation and removal.

The versatile design of the pump seal chamber allows the choice of a wide variety of engineered single and double mechanical seals in either component or cartridge configurations, as well as an optional packed-gland seal arrangement. The pump features a removable shaft seal that can be replaced without the need to replace the entire shaft.

Series LS pumps are provided with a durable, one-piece, bearing frame suitable for either direct or V-belt drive. A heavy-duty shaft minimizes deflection. In addition, radial and thrust bearings are suitably sized to handle the loading experienced under severe pumping conditions. Grease lubricated bearings are standard, with oil-lubricated bearings available as an option. An integral drip basin is provided in the seal area for easy removal of any leakage from flush fluids.
