Original Press Release:

New Woodhead® 400-Watt High Bay Light Provides Practical, Effective Temporary Lighting for a Host of Applications

Flexible and economical, this high-output metal halide lighting fixture is ideal for use at construction sites, as well as industrial and warehouse settings

June 19, 2006, Deerfield, IL USA. Woodhead Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:WDHD) recently introduced a new addition to its family of Woodhead® Lighting products. The Woodhead 400-Watt High Bay Light, an economical and highly efficient temporary lighting fixture well suited for use in commercial, industrial and residential construction sites, as well as in warehouses, at loading docks, temporary job sites or staging areas. The 400-watt, clear, high-output metal halide lamp meets OSHA 1926.56 requirements for minimum illumination of work areas, when properly installed and mounted 15-ft above 40'x40' and 60'x60' bays.

The Woodhead 400-Watt High Bay Light provides more light than two 100-ft temporary stringlights, and is much easier to install. It provides clear, clean light output of 36,000 initial lumens at 4200o Kelvin color rendering. Additional operational and safety features of the new fixture include:

Multi-voltage style ballast operates on power supplies available at most job sites. Open-air design allows the fixture to cool efficiently and operate at optimum temperatures.

Type "O" lamp and mogul socket prevents insertion of non-compliant style lamps, increasing job safety. Complies with NEC2005 410.73(F) (5) and ANSI C78.387.
Spring-loaded clamp hook enables faster, easier and more secure mounting and installation than 100-ft temporary stringlights.

Heavy-gauge welded and plated guard provides superior lamp protection, even in abusive environments. The wire-formed guard attaches to the enclosure rather than the porcelain lampholder, which reduces the risk of breakage during severe impact.

Two 3/4-inch knock-outs located on both sides of the wiring compartment provide easy, feed-through connections or multi-voltage power supplies when using a conduit.
