TwinStar II High Availability Solution Announced
Xorcom’s award-winning TwinStar full redundancy for IP-PBX now supports “Plug-and-Play”, and functions with or without an Astribank
Xorcom, a privately-held manufacturer of IP-PBX business telephony solutions,today announced the release of a new version of its award-winning high availability solution – TwinStar™. The new version supports plug-and-play functionality, in which DAHDI (Digium Asterisk Hardware Device Interface) devices, such as the Xorcom Astribank telephony interfaces, can be added or removed from a live Asterisk-based IP-PBX while it remains fully operational. In addition, the new version is especially suited to pure IP environments since, unlike the previous version, it does not require an Astribank to function.
TwinStar II provides full redundancy for a complete PBX system, including telephony interfaces (if present). A sophisticated automatic replication and detection mechanism detects server failure and switches all telephony to the backup server, keeping downtime to an absolute minimum.
