Original Press Release:

New Line of Hipot Testers Feature an Enhanced Graphic LCD with Analog Bar Graph

Lake Forest, Illinois, Nov. 2002 - Announced today by Associated Research, Inc is the addition of HypotULTRA(tm) III to their line of electrical safety compliance testing instruments. The HypotULTRA III is the next generation of Associated Research's HypotULTRA family.

This new product family consists of two different models, the 7620 which is a 5KV AC hipot tester and the 7650, which is a 5 KV AC and DC Hipot tester with a built in Insulation Resistance tester. The 7620 is a perfect solution for manufacturers who require only AC test voltage but need to test in an automated application. Optional 4-port and 8-port internal scanners are also available for both models. The optional scanner is ideal for multiple point testing of a single product or multiple product testing. The availability of 4 or 8 port scanners in either the AC only or AC/DC/IR version provides flexibility in configuring a tester that meets the users specific needs.

The HypotULTRA III also includes an enhanced graphic LCD with a built-in analog bar graph. The enhanced graphic LCD simplifies the user interface on the instrument and provides the operator with complete test setup and results while the analog bar graph allows users to monitor test results as compared to limit settings.

Advanced features of HypotULTRA III include:

SmartGFI(tm): GFI system which provides maximum safety protection to the user.

CAL-ALERT(tm): Built in calibration alert system alerts user when the instrument is due for calibration

VERI-CHEK(tm): Menu driven self verification process to "verify" the functionality of the safety tester

Exclusive Prompt Function: Allows user configurable messages to be displayed during the test cycle

Real Current Measurement: This function allows users to monitor total and real current on a single screen

2U 19 Inch Rack Mount Cabinet: The HypotULTRA III has been designed to take up less rack space

HypotULTRA III also includes two continuity test modes that allow the user to select whether to perform a low current continuity test simultaneously with the hipot test or to employ the separate continuity test mode to perform an independent continuity test. For even more options a continuity test can be configured to run through a scanner for multi-point continuity tests. HypotULTRA III also has a memory of up to 50 setups with 30 steps per setup, which is a benefit for manufacturers who are required to test multiple products.
