Henkel Introduces Loctite® Adhesive Line for Structural Metal Bonding

Rocky Hill, Conn. - June 22, 2006.... Henkel Corporation has introduced a new line of seven structural acrylic adhesives that deliver tough, durable bonds to a variety of metals. Two part Loctite' Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesives bond aluminum, steel, and galvanized metals to a variety of substrates including plastics and composites, and dramatically reduce the need for mechanical fasteners.

Loctite' H4720(TM) Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesive provides excellent environmental resistance on a range of metals. Loctite' H8000(TM) Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesive fixtures in just 10 to 15 minutes and provides excellent impact and peel strength on aluminum surfaces. For high strength steel bonding, Loctite' H8500(TM) Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesive offers a short open time, while Loctite' H8510(TM) Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesive offers an extended open time for parts alignment. Finally, Loctite' H8600(TM) Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesive is specifically formulated for long-term bond strength on galvanized steel, and offers robust bonds to many other metals exposed to environmental extremes.

Two general purpose adhesive formulations are available. Loctite' H3151(TM) Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesive offers 35 to 40 minutes of open time for part adjustment, and provides excellent bond strength on aluminum and steel. Loctite' H4500(TM) Speedbonder(TM) structural adhesive is a fast setting, high strength adhesive with a short open time of just 10 minutes for general metal bonding.

Loctite® brand metal bonders out perform the competition in side-by-side testing on a variety of metal surfaces and environmental conditions while also offering the most durable metal bonds available in the industry.
