MILWAUKEE – HellermannTyton (www.hellermann.tyton.com), a leading global manufacturer and supplier of cable protection, network connectivity and identification solutions, announces independent voltage test results for its HelaGuard non-metallic conduit line.
Tests performed by National Technical Systems (NTS) confirm that HelaGuard Standard Weight nylon corrugated Conduit (HG-SW) withstands 600V performance, as measured by ASTM D3638-12. This benchmark rating applies to all diameters in the HelaGuard HG-SW conduit series. ASTM D3638-12 provides a comparison of the performance of insulating materials under wet and contaminated conditions. HelaGuard HG-SW series conduit is made of a flexible PA6 nylon material that provides corrosion resistance for wire and cable bundles.
“Without a verifiable voltage rating, end users have been cautious about using a flexible nylon corrugated system, which prompted us to address that concern through independent testing,” said Duane Kuske, Marketing Manager at HellermannTyton. “Test results confirm the 600V rating, a certification few corrugated conduit suppliers can currently make and document.” Kuske added that the HelaGuard nylon series offers greater flexibility, longer fatigue life and better mechanical strength compared to alternative types of nonmetallic conduit systems.
HelaGuard non-metallic conduits and fittings work together to provide an integrated solution for protecting wires and cables from dirt, debris, UV light, chemicals and more. The non-metallic system is suitable for a wide range of applications and markets, including light rail, electrical/OEM, industrial machine equipment and renewable energies.
