Pass & Seymour/Legrand® Introduces New Extra Heavy-Duty Receptacles

The only receptacles designed exclusively for MRI applications.

SYRACUSE, NY, November 12, 2004 - Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading manufacturer of electrical and network wiring devices, today announced the introduction of its new Extra Heavy-Duty Receptacles, the only receptacle designed exclusively for MRI applications and the latest addition to the P&S family of Hospital Grade Devices.

The exclusive Extra Heavy-Duty Receptacles are made using the same basic design as the standard Extra Heavy-Duty Receptacles, but without the use of ferrous metal, which allows them to be used for high-magnetic-field environments, such as magnetic-resonance imaging (MRI) suites.

"The new design of the receptacles, including the extra heavy-duty brass mounting strap, ensures durability and superior structural integrity which accounts for long-term performance," said Scott Bausch, product manager for Pass & Seymour/Legrand.

The Extra Heavy-Duty Receptacles are made expressly for MRI applications as well as for other health care, education and institutional uses. The receptacles have a maximum working voltage of 250v and are certified for current interrupting at full-rated current. Other features include an easily accessed break-off, line-contact connecting tab, which makes split circuit wiring fast and easy and patented circuit labels on the face of the receptacles, which allows permanent and positive circuit identification.
