PHD's NEW Heavy Duty Guardian(TM) Grippers Offer High Grip Force & Long Jaw Travels for Robust Parts Gripping

PHD has just released its NEW Series GRR Guardian(TM) line of grippers. These grippers provide high grip force and are available in long jaw travels of 150, 200, 250, and 350 mm. The rugged design and jaw construction can withstand high impact and shock loads. These new heavy duty grippers are designed for gripping large, heavy parts and perform with precision in even the most demanding industrial automation applications, including small engine block manufacturing, automotive wheel rim manufacturing, foundry applications, clamping and fixturing during assembly operations, and much more.

Standard features include:
o Double acting for both internal and external gripping.
o Dual air-passage piston rod design allows rapid bore pressurization to accommodate fast cycle times.
o TC fluoropolymer composite guide shaft bushings provide long life and smooth jaw travel in demanding industrial environments.
o Three large diameter jaw guides span the length of the gripper to provide stable jaw travel, long allowable tooling length, and high moment capacities.
o Rack and pinion synchronizer is enclosed to protect the mechanism from debris and minimizes backlash.

Units can be specified as synchronized, non-synchronized, or non-synchronized with independently powered jaws to support diverse applications.

Inductive proximity switches are available for discrete indication of jaw position. In addition, Series GRR Guardian(TM) Grippers can be specified with an optional jaw position sensor that continuously monitors the grip position of the jaws. These grippers are built "sensor ready" allowing the sensor to be factory installed or easily installed in the field. Units can also be specified with PHD's Rodlok® option, providing reliable part retention in the event of lost air pressure.
