Latest Heat Shrink Tubing from Tyco Electronics Suits Military Apps
HARRISBURG, Pa., March 6 - Tyco Electronics recently introduced RAYCHEM NT-MIL heat shrinkable tubing. NT-MIL tubing is a modified elastomeric tubing offering flexibility and improved resistance to abrasion and physical abuse. Designers would use NT-MIL tubing in applications where insulation, strain relief or abrasion protection is necessary on cable harnesses and wire bundles. The product is suitable for use in most military ground vehicle applications or aerospace applications where enhanced abrasion protection is necessary.
NT-MIL tubing remains flexible without cracking at temperatures as low as -70 degrees C and withstands temperature shock up to 200 degrees C without dripping or flowing. Even while exposed to elevated temperatures, the product resists most oils, fuels and other fluids commonly found in military and aerospace applications. NT-MIL tubing meets SAE-AMS-DTL-23053/1 Class 1 & 2, the most widely used military specification for heat shrinkable tubing. NT-MIL tubing is available with inside diameters (expanded state) ranging from 1/8 inch through 4 inches. The product is packaged on spools and is available in cut to length pieces on request.
