HD WDR CMOS Image Sensor SoC meets/exceeds AEC-Q100 requirements.

Press Release Summary:

Meeting/exceeding grade-3 qualification requirements of AEC-Q100 at operational temperatures up to 85°C, AL30205C-85 delivers seamless WDR HD video at 1080p30 through 1080p60 with up to 120 dB dynamic range with minimum of motion artifacts. Product and its supporting ASIC — ALWPU with dynamically programmable wide dynamic range signal processing — are fully qualified to JESD-47 along with Qualification of Integrated Circuits and elements per JESD22, JESD85, and JESD78.

Original Press Release:

AltaSens Introduces Its First-High Definition WDR CMOS Image Sensor Fully Qualified to AEC-Q100 Standard for Automotive Uses

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- AltaSens, Inc., a leading supplier of CMOS image sensors, is soon offering its first sensor fully meeting all specifications at operational temperatures up to 85 °C.  The high definition CMOS imaging System-on-Chip already meets or exceeds many of the grade-3 qualification requirements of AEC-Q100.

The AL30205C-85 and its supporting ASIC, the AltaSens Wide Dynamic Range Processing Unit (ALWPU) with dynamically programmable wide dynamic range signal processing, have already been fully qualified to JESD-47 along with Qualification of Integrated Circuits and elements per JESD22, JESD85, and JESD78.  These specifications duplicate many of the requirements of the AEC specification.  The AL30205C-85 and ALWPU also meet all RoHS and REACH environmental requirements.  Sensors and ASICs qualified from zero to 60°C are already in mass production.

The wide dynamic range chipset, including the AL30205C-85 and the ALWPU, will be fully qualified by early 2014 to AEC-Q100 Grade 3.  AltaSens will globally market the solution to major automotive manufacturers in conjunction with its parent company, JVC KENWOOD Corporation.  The high-performance HD chipset delivers seamless WDR HD video at 1080p30 through 1080p60 with up to 120 dB dynamic range with a minimum of motion artifacts as enabled by its U.S. Pat. No. 8,605,177.  Full AEC-Q100 certification is anticipated in early 2014.

Demonstrations, lead times and competitive pricing are available upon request. Camera modules are also available through multiple distributors.

AltaSens, a wholly owned subsidiary of JVC KENWOOD Corporation (www.jvckenwood.co.jp/en/index.html), was founded in 2004 and has emerged as the pioneer of High Definition and Wide Dynamic Range CMOS imaging technology. AltaSens' products can be found at the heart of many high-end cameras built for a variety of applications, including videoconference, telepresence, surveillance, broadcast, cinematography, medical, and industrial. AltaSens offers a cost-competitive suite of products focused on full 1080p60 HD resolution in 1/3" to 2/3" sensor offerings.  For more about AltaSens High Definition and Wide Dynamic Range products, see www.altasens.com.
