Haumiller Engineering's Patent-Pending Aerosol Assembly Automation Method Delivers Unprecedented Accuracy in Part Alignment

Elgin, Illinois - An innovative, more accurate method for automated assembly of aerosol containers, developed by Haumiller Engineering, is moving closer to U.S. patent approval.

The patent-pending method created by Haumiller, a leading provider of high-speed automated assembly equipment, solves a common challenge in assembling aerosol container for many applications-that of properly feeding a narrow, curl-prone dip tube curl through a small hole in a can.

Traditional aerosol assembly machinery handles the valve assembly (pump and dip tube) as a whole, and not the dip tube specifically, while attaching it to the can. With this technique, even slight variations in alignment can cause the dip tube to miss the hole in the container during assembly, leading to slower production times and increased costs.

Haumiller's solution involves an apparatus with claw-like fingers that handle both the pump and the dip tube, maintaining positive alignment for insertion through the hole and connecting the tube to a straw at the bottom of the can. This method, which is already in use with one customer and in production for three other applications, will be incorporated into Haumiller's line of standard aerosol assembly equipment.

Haumiller's patent application for the method was recently published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

"This patent-pending aerosol solution is just the latest way Haumiller has helped customers reduce risks and maximize quality for our customers," said Russ Holmer, President of Haumiller Engineering.
