Harper Awarded $38M in Contracts for State-of-the-Art Carbon Fiber Production Systems
Buffalo, NY – Harper International, world leader in thermal processing solutions for advanced materials, has been selected by a prominent firm for its production scale Carbon Fiber conversion line. The contracts include, but are not limited to, advanced three meter wide Oxidation Ovens, LT and HT carbonization systems, waste gas abatement systems, fiber handling and integrated additional unit operations, controls, and services, valued at approximately $38 Million USD in total.
With its market-leading Furnaces and ground-breaking Oxidation Oven technology, the customer chose Harper for its full line investment to ensure the most efficient total operation of their plant. As a key feature of its pioneering Ovens, Harper's proprietary atmospheric seals reduce fugitive emissions, increase the active volume of the oven, and offer reduced energy consumption over alternatives. For the customer, this and other technology advancements equal optimized fiber quality and production rates due to faster oxidation, improved velocity uniformity and range capability, assured temperature uniformity, and optimal control of the reaction.
