Original Press Release:

IBM Hardware Management Console Features Expand Management of POWER4 Servers; IBM eServer pSeries Server Memory Feature Conversions Available

The Hardware Management Console for POWER4(TM) Licensed Machine Code
feature enables 7315-C03 and 7315-CR2 Hardware Management Consoles to manage pSeries® POWER4 servers using logical partitioning or Capacity Upgrade on Demand, or operating in a clustered environment.

The new licensed machine code feature is required for all new 7315-C03 and 7315-CR2 Hardware Management Consoles, and will be preloaded on all new 7315 machines. This licensed machine code replaces Hardware Management Console Recovery Software for pSeries (5639-N47), which will be withdrawn in a separate announcement.

Hardware Management Consoles enable a system administrator to manage configuration and operation of partitions in a system, as well as to monitor the system for hardware problems.
Additionally, several new memory feature conversions are available for 7040-671 and 7040-681 servers that have 633 MHz memory installed.

Customers with installed 633 MHz memory cards can increase the memory capacity of their servers by replacing their existing memory cards with larger capacity cards at a reduced price and returning their existing memory cards to IBM.
