Press Release Summary:
Available for RTU and track or gantry robots, BZL Robot Zone Limit Systems provide diverse, complementary, and redundant position monitoring for up to 3 robot axes to help recapture lost productivity. Systems offer flexibility to adjust zone angles and locations while providing means to mute personnel sensing devices per requirements of ANSI/RIA R15.06-1999. Pre-engineered kits include all mounting hardware, complementary cams, and multiple position switch in mechanical or inductive versions.
Original Press Release:
Recapture Lost Productivity while Maintaining Complete Operator Safety with Balluff's Robot Zone Limit Systems
Balluff now offers robust pre-engineered hardware kits that provide diverse, complementary and redundant position monitoring for up to three robot axes to help you recapture lost productivity.
Florence, KY - April 23, 2009 -- Whenever a human operator must share workspace with a robot, there is no question that safety is the highest priority. When the operator enters the robot cell the robot must be safely idled which results in lost productivity. Balluff offers robust pre-engineered hardware kits that provide diverse, complementary and redundant position monitoring for up to three robot axes to help you recapture lost productivity.
Balluff's easy-to-install BZL systems can reduce cycle time, floor space and perimeter guarding.
Balluff's robot zone limit systems install easily and provide visual indication and the flexibility to adjust zone angles and locations while providing a control reliable means to mute personnel sensing devices per the requirements of ANSI/RIA R15.06-1999. These pre-engineered kits include all mounting hardware complementary cams and the proven Balluff multiple position switch in either mechanical or inductive versions. In addition to increasing productivity these systems can dynamically restrict the operating envelope of the robot allowing a smaller area to be guarded thus reducing work cell size and guarding.
Systems are available for both RTU and track or gantry robots. The linear systems can provide up to four independent zones along the length of robot travel. This can eliminate robot detecting light curtains while increasing zoning flexibility. When used in conjunction with axis 2 systems robots can be safely interlocked with machine doors, gates, operator occupied areas and other robots on the same track or working within the same physical envelope.
