Harbec, Inc. Acquires 3 CNC High-Speed Milling Centers, adding Capability and Capacity for Medical Device Customers

The equipment acquisition complements and expands Harbec's growing capabilities including cleanroom molding and 3D printing for Medical Device and Component Manufacturing.

Ontario, NY

To add capability and capacity to its tight tolerance and precision CNC machining operations, Ontario, NY based Harbec, Inc. (www.harbec.com) has purchased and integrated three new CNC high speed milling centers. The high speed milling centers expand Harbec's manufacturing solutions for Medical sector customers.

Keith Schneider, General Manager of Harbec states, "In the past 6-months Harbec has been making significant investments to expand its portfolio of medical device manufacturing solutions. We've added solutions for cleanroom molding, 3D printing, product labeling, and secondary operations."

Harbec's new milling centers will be dedicated to difficult to machine metals such as stainless steel and titanium. The high speed spindle of the new milling centers has the ability to machine titanium with a .01" diameter end mill.

Keith Schenider further notes, "Harbec's acquisition of three high speed milling centers gives Harbec additional capacity within our machining operations and an advanced manufacturing capability dedicated to medical customers for difficult to machine metals like titanium, with a .01" diameter end mill. This investment demonstrates Harbec's commitment to continuously improve our operational excellence through innovation while providing manufacturing solutions for our customers."

The CNC milling centers were acquired as part of Harbec's targeted effort to expand upon its solutions for medical device manufacturing customers. Harbec serves customers with a diversity of manufacturing solutions ranging from rapid prototyping, CNC machining, mold making, and production of injection molded parts.
