Fluke Hart Scientific Division Introduces First High-Accuracy Dual-Channel Handheld Thermometer for PRT, Thermocouple, and Thermistor Measurement

New easier-to-use field reference thermometer replaces three tools with one, adds graphing, logging, and statistics

AMerICAN FORK, Utah - Hart Scientific, a division of Fluke Corporation, today introduced the Fluke 1523 and Fluke 1524 handheld reference thermometers for platinum resistance thermometer (PRT), thermocouple, and thermistor temperature measurement. The single and dual channel models feature precision components and circuitry to put lab-quality measurement in easy reach of field technicians and engineers.

These rugged and affordable portable electronic thermometers offer accuracy of ± 0.002 °C, a level appropriate for high precision field work in oil, gas and other industries, where the current practice is the use of toxic mercury-in-glass thermometers. Fluke guarantees the specifications in -10 °C to 60 °C ambient temperatures, with best performance over the range 13 °C to 33 °C.

INFO-CON connector technology in the Fluke 1523/24 Reference Thermometers makes using calibrated PRTs, thermocouples, and thermistors plug-and-play. This simplifies NIST traceability, calibration work, and compliance with quality requirements in ISO-9000, FDA regulations, government contracts, and best manufacturing practices. In addition, the thermometers graph trends and display statistics to increase productivity, shorten the learning curve, and extend the capabilities of technicians.

The dual channel Fluke 1524 Reference Thermometer can directly measure temperature differences for applications in the efficiency of internal and external combustion engines, steam engines, gas turbines, liquid turbines, and HVAC. For product testing, process validation, troubleshooting, and research, it logs up to 15,000 time and date stamped measurements for later retrieval with a PC.
