Berkeley Announces Handheld WLAN Power Meter



METUCHEN, New Jersey. - November 22, 2004 -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc.announces Butterfly(TM), a portable WLAN power meter.

Butterfly(TM) is a low-cost, handheld power meter designed specifically for 802.11b, a and b/g WLANs in mind. The receiver attaches directly to any Access Point or Network Interface Card with an SMA external antenna connection and measures both 2.4 GHz and 5.1-5.8 GHz UNI bands (I,II,III) standards for verification of power levels (0 to 30 dBm). Other features include a built-in backlit display, simple keypad menu navigation and removable, rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for true portability. Butterfly(TM) includes SMA antenna connection kit for use with most APs with external antennas. Butterfly(TM) will be introduced at the Wi-Fi Planet show in December, 2004 booth # 102. Available January, 2005.
