New Hand Wheel Cover for SCBA's Provides Insulation and Easy Grip
February 28, 2002 - - Pittsburgh, PA - - Draeger Safety, Inc. introduces the Easy Grip, a rugged silicone hand wheel cover that fits over the first stage reducer hand wheel on Draeger Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). The purpose of the Easy Grip cover is to prevent ice from building up on the aluminum reducer hand wheel. The Easy Grip cover insulates the aluminum hand wheel preventing the cylinder and hand wheel
threads from bonding together.
The Easy Grip is easy to install with no tools required. It prevents water and ice from entering the cylinder/reducer connection while allowing thin layers of ice to be easily removed by squeezing. The Easy Grip fits both high and low pressure SCBA's and prevents over tightening of the hand wheel, while improving cylinder alignment to the first stage reducer. The large non-slip grip knobs are easy to handle while wearing
gloves.
