Two Technologies Introduces PCL-486 Hand Held Computer
HORSHAM, Pa. -- Two Technologies. Inc. announces the latest edition to our family of affordable ROM-DOS® based, rugged hand held computers, the PCL-486.
Building on the foundation of our highly successful PCL products, this new addition offers an abundance of speed, power, a variety of interface capabilities, and storage, all in a compact "hand held" package. Like our other hand held computers, this powerful device is designed with the rugged construction necessary for industrial and commercial use.
In applications where real time control is a requirement, the ROM-DOS 6.22 operating system makes the PCL-486 an ideal choice. The 192 x 128 pixel Liquid Crystal Display provides crisp, high contrast images, even in full sunlight and is capable of both text and graphics. The standard memory configuration includes 8MB of Dynamic RAM and 2MB of FLASH, both of which are expandable. The optional PC Card slot provides a means of adding large amounts of storage capacity. Other features include a serial port which can be configured for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. An optional second serial port (RS-232) is available.
Multiple keypad layouts are available with either standard or custom graphics. The keypad surface is securely framed and clamped into place to ensure excellent splash resistance and prevent curling or peeling of the keypad overlay. The PCL-486: when an off-the-shelf- computer for an OEM application just won't do.
