Columbus McKinnon Introduces Hurricane Hand Chain Hoist Unique 360 deg Handwheel Cover Enables Multidirectional Operation
Amherst, New York, March 13, 2002 - Columbus McKinnon Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCO), the leading manufacturer of hoist and chain products in North America, today announced the introduction of its new hand chain hoist, the Hurricane, which combines high quality and ruggedness in an economically priced hand chain hoist. The Hurricane hoist line offers lifting capability from 1/2 to 2 tons (500 to 2000 kilograms) and a standard lift from 8 to 20 feet (2.4 to 6 meters) and can be used in a broad range of industrial, construction and commercial applications. Developed by a cross-functional global team from CM's engineering, marketing and manufacturing groups, the Hurricane line carries a 5-year warranty and is available through CM's network of standard stocking hand chain and full line independent hoist distributors.

"The Hurricane's brake is designed with fewer moving parts which increases its efficiency and useful life while reducing maintenance.
